My father, who hasn't really ever been apart of my life, has been trying to take intrest in my farm and trying to build on our relationship, just informed me that he order me a rare breed assortment of 30 chicks from meyer!! I was astounded, he and I have always been on shakey ground since I was a kid, but lately he has been trying and this is such an awesome gesture, I enjoy that he has taken an intrest and actually put thought into my b-day present this year. It makes me feel good, I have been praying so hard that he would step, because I was so tired of being the only to try to keep in contact. Ok....I regress.....anyway...... I just looked at what the rare breed assortment consists of and its amazing!! Exquerhor(sp?) Leghorns, polish, cochins, marans, penedensca(sp?), fayoumis, lakenvelders, campines, hamburgs, barnvelders, buckeyes, sultans, sumatra, and several others!! Think I'm gonna add another 10-15 to the order so I can get as much variety as possible

This is wonderful. So glad you and your dad are mending your relationship

I would love to know where that $12.00 per bag is. I am having to buy two of the feeds that I get at Nahunta, and the other two at Coker's, + Dog food, to get a decent price lately. I will be so glad when the gardens are lush and full. All we have growing out side of the Greenhouse right now is wheat; not that they don't like it.

Coop Scoop, Fb shows WCA open tomorrow, I was wondering if many in this area would want to drive, but I think they will. They say the heaters are full and pumping.

Wild, that sounds great about your relationship being better with your dad. Chicks sound great too! Quite a vivid colored mix too. I hope they are all hens...

Its 21.50 regular price. They say they will cut deals on big orders. The $68 was for shipping. All natural still has gmo products in the feed and soy . $12 a bag is cheap I'm paying 21 here
Jon
I am in wilmington

Is that $68 for a 50lb bag!?!?!?  I was gonna say I was interested in splitting an order but I just can't pay that much for a 50lb bag....  Where are you located?  I'm in Northern Forsyth County between Winston Salem and Greensboro.
Right now I am getting an "all-natural" layer from Statesville for about $12/bag!

we could order it by the ton and get a really good deal have it shipped to a central location and move it from there.. It may be worth it for alot of us. I am waiting on a response I emailed them yesterday. Probably won't hear back till tomorrow.
Jon

group buys work well If we can get enough people. Feeds are get more expensive weekly. Alfalfa pellets are 19.50 a 50lb bag here and steamed oats are 17.50 If we could get a not gmo no soy product cheap it would be worth it to me and my family for sure

Good Morning, Happy Chicken People!

Invited a friend to bring her kids over today to force me into doing some housework! Now I have it to do! I'm starting to think that wasn't too smart!

Wild, kudos to your dad for actually Thinking what would make you happy! Looks like he nailed, too! When is this birthday?

CSB, enjoy WCA. If I didn't have guests coming, I'd join you!

Everyone, enjoy the day!

Oh! I know there is a Virginia supplier of organic feeds. Don't know if they have soy-free. GMO free is not possible anymore. All the heirlooms are contaminated, since corn, wheat, etc. are wind pollinated. Anyone guaranteeing that I would look askance at.

Layer Feed at TSC is running $18 per bag. I'd like to find that cheaper, but not if it's Purina. I won't feed that.
