neighbors stupid giant dog just jumped up and yanked my rabbit cage from the roof of the barn! The cage was bolted and chained to the roof, 4 ft in the air. The dog just yanked it down, killed one of my bucks and now I have to go hunting for my two prego does!!!

the dog is a large 120+ lbs mastiff and while I love the breed I hate this dog! Last month, he ripped open a coop, didn't kill anything, but still ripped the wire and door off. And back in the fall, I had to replace my dog fence because he basically trampled it!! Ugh and the owners are just idiots who also have chickens that don't give a crap about!!
rant.gif
you know what they live on like 20 acres and have a huge expensive house you think could afford some fricking fencing to contain their dogs!

Ok sorry about the rant.... thanks for listening.

That dog needs a new address.

If it was me i would do one of 2 things. 1 if you can catch him tie him up and call animal control for pick up. Let them pay to get him out of lock up. Plus if you are able file charges for destruction of property (not sure if that is even possible but if the sheriffs show up on their door step maybe they will take a little responsibility. 2. if you catch him in the act fill his rump with lead. But remember if he goes home then you are liable so you have to put him down! But since this is a recurring problem I would probably skip to step 2...just my opinion anyways.

Good morning folks

Wild, so sorry! What kind of rabbits? I've got New Zealand Whites with a litter. I could save you a buck and bring it to WCA.

As far as the dog goes...how DARE he smudge my breed! Capture and turn over to animal control, but file a sheriff's report. Or SSS. Double check your county laws, as someone said earlier counties can vary. I had thought livestock protection was a state law, though. Need to look that up.

And.....Good Morning, Happy Chicken People!

Hopefully this cold spell is on the way out. Temps in the low 20's are not my idea of a good time.

Enjoy the day!

All of these dogs are great! I bet most if not all of the chicken owners on here have at least one dog.

Well... it's another Monday.... we stayed pretty busy this weekend.
One of my chihuahuas had pups on Saturday...

Mimi is such a good momma.... she had 3 beautiful little girls

And when we got home from WCA on sunday..... guess what we find??
Our young nanny goat had a brand new baby goat.

He is such a cutie...
love.gif

We brought them into the back yard because our billy was jealous
and kept trying to butt the baby every time it went to nurse on his momma.
Our cow was being nosey in the background...

Here's some pics of my Swedish Flower Hen & my EE laying hens.

Loving this sunshine today....
I hope everyone has a great day!

Mary - I think I want to be one of your pets!! LOL. I may have to send you a PM about cows & goats!! LOL DH came home last night and decided he is going to start putting the fencing up/in!!

I'm in LOVE...they are SO pretty!!
LOL! Yep, that is the hiding spot for my ACV which I add to their water. If I keep it in there, it won't freeze since I have the heat lamps in there :) Good eye! LOL!

Angela
SURE SURE...that's what you say it is. ACV, I'm SURE we all believe you on that!!

Well, no chicken news to report...but today is THE DAY. DH is super excited to find out (which is a huge change from just a few days ago...LOL, MEN!). I have mixed emotions, I like the surprise that comes with not knowing, but at this point in time, it would make planning easier - IF we should be blessed with a boy, I could at least start shopping for things while they are on clearance!! Still...I HATE going to Raleigh for my appointments. I need to find me a midwife

or an Amish grandmother, something. I have onions and carrots growing (in pots) and my tomatoes are starting to look good - transplanting them into larger pots this weekend. I HAVE SPRING FEVER!!

Have a wonderful day everyone!!

I have potato, radish, carrots, and green beans in the ground. After talking to beth she had said something about growing potatos in tires and i did some research and i am trying that method just with wood boxes and every time the plant grows you ad a box and fill with dirt they say you can grow 100lbs this way. We will see... also picked up a shipping crate yesterday about to start small coop today will post some pics as i go!
