North Carolina

Spring not here yet all my waterers were froze agn I'm tired of carrying water in 26 degree weather    :old
Yeah! I'm glad my bottle calves are weaned now, as that's several gallons of warm water I am no longer shlepping from the house to the barn. Still carrying rabbit water bottles, but for the chickens just a half gallon of hot water to pour into their pan will thaw it out quickly. I load everything into my muck tub cart to wheel it out. i love that cart. makes my life much easier! We might be done with freezes where we are though. Maybe. Hopefully.

Good morning everybody :frow had a late dealing with a stray barn cat who thought he would be able to make off withe some of my chicks, little did he know my big Easter egger boy Butch was loose in the barn. Boy did that cat get a rude flogging, seems like butch had a lot of built up anger and really beat the crap out of the would be predator. I managed to catch the cat and stuck him in a cage and animal control came and got him early this morning.

It is slowly starting to warm up outside, hoping for a nice day so I can get some cages built.

Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Glad you caught that cat! We've had two stray cats after chicks before. One got taught a serious lesson by the mama hen who turned into a raging eagle on her! The other...well, it was the first one that went after my chicks. It is no longer around to do such things.

Good Morning everyone!!

Round 2 of "morning" sickness is back.  :sick   Poor hubby is having to fend for himself when it comes to food the past few days.  All I want to eat is meat yet the smell of it makes me sick.  LOL.  Weird. :idunno  Oh well...must work through it and focus on....SPRING!! Busy weekend ahead for us but only in the garden/yard...

Still. NO. Eggs!  :he   Maybe I'll find the stash this weekend as we are cleaning the coop out....who knows!!  LOL.

No other chicken news to report, so have a GREAT weekend everyone!!

Good Morning, Happy Chicken People!

Yay for Spring Break!

Enjoy your day!

I might be interested in going to the local foods connection conference. I may have a friend who would like to come with me.  Its a four hour ride for us, so could you give me some details on times and registration?
If you send me your email address, I'll send you the flyer and list of classes and times for everything. :)

Good Afternoon, I am still new on here. I've been trying to get caught up on things. The last month are so has been crazy. I've got new babies everywhere inside and out.Hopefully I will have time to post some pics soon. But I need some advice its about gardening.....I've been wanting to get a tiller but I want it to be one I can use when my hubby is not home and want work me to death. I've looked online at different ones. I don't want to spend alot of money, which I don't have anyway. I've looked at the electric ones does anyone have any thoughts on them. My hubby says he's not for sure about that, they may not do good, not enough weigh.
