Yes we lose an hour

Ah well, I don't sleep well anyway, so I'm not really losing anything.
Went to tend to the coops this morning and Elvis...aka mean rooster, hit the door and I just let him go. Now if the dogs don't kill him! They have never been aggressive or messed with the chickens, but Elvis did jump one of them after he hit me (she was coming to my aid) and she started to fight back, I called her off and she didn't mess with him after that, though he kept threatening. We shall see how this goes, attempted to catch him to try the carrying him around approach, but he is way too aggressive! Biting/pecking and flogging with wings and (as yet) spur-less legs!

Spring goes forward. What is 5:30 now will be 6:30. You're going to get an extra hour of sleep! Yay!

=Enjoy your day, everyone!

you lose the hour of sleep Hollow, I think spring break has hit you hard today :lau
You only lose it once. After that, the time her kids get up will likely be 6:30 instead of 5:30, depending on what their wake-up trigger is. So she'll get to sleep in that hour after the first night. That's what I meant.

Ah what a pretty day here! Hope all the rest of you are enjoying great weather today as well. I need a babysitter this afternoon so I can get the run finished. Got all the pieces just need the time. I would love for them to be able to get out in the run tomorrow while I am home because Saturday I will be officiating all day and do not trust my hubby to keep an eye on them. He is a city boy!

Oh well.... hope everyone is looking forward to the weekend. I cannot wait for 60s and sunny! Have a great day Chicken people!

Sold my second coop today... now I just need to find the time to build them!
That's great!

Does anyone want, or know of someone looking for a young yard roo. He is chasing females, and the head of the main flock (his daddy) is not too happy about it! I saw him get hold of him this evening, and it was not pretty. He is pretty, but will not be for long if Wild Thing gets hold of him again. I kept him because he was so pretty, and he was hatched here last June-July. His mother is not an Ameracauna; she is a Plymouth White Rock. Females That we bread from this cross, lay colors like the AM, but they lay more eggs. I do NOT know if he would pass this on or not. I did not plan on breeding him, I just liked his pretty feathers. He is not mean. Just a pain in the butt at the moment, and I dread to think if Wild Thing gets hold of him again.

Thank you if any one knows of a better home for him, please inbox me.

Good Morning, Happy Chicken People!

Like all of us, I am watching for my One True Sign of spring. I bet everyone has something they watch for. What's yours? Mine is ....tent caterpillars. They know when the last hard freeze is over. Mostly. But when I see them, I'll start planting tender things.

Three more very long days this week. I'm already exhausted from a ten hour day yesterday.

Enjoy your day!
I like your idea about them ****caterpillers. I noticed a faint yellow scum line in the parking lot at work the last rain we had, it's real close to spring here!
