I have ducklings that have pipped!!! This is my first hatch, and I've been so nervous since I saw the first egg that pipped. So far two have pipped, and at least five are wiggling like crazy. Hoping we have a successful hatch!

The washer didn't even finish and the rain came down...it's official, I am JINXED when it comes to washing diapers and rain!! Maybe I just need to figure out this whole elimination communication thingie and never put my kiddos in diapers again!!

Okay, fantasy is over with...back to reality!! LOL.

Oh, and for those of you that ever wondered...according to my DH - ducks don't need water to "do the deed"...lol, just be sitting NEXT to the pond!!

Good Afternoon all you NC BYCers. Since I've got the coops and runs cleaned for spring yesterday and part of a garden plot done, I'm off to try to finish the other 6 plots today and hopefully start planting. Hope everyone has a blessed Saturday.

My dilemma of the day seems to be...I have collected 11+ duck eggs and 12+ chicken eggs...to incubate or not to incubate??? Hmmmmm..... I'll have to ponder this one for a minute.

Does anyone hatch their chicken and duck eggs together? Just curious. I've heard of it being done but don't know if I wanna chance it.

you can...but need to start the ducks ahead. Ducks take 28 days. SO put ducks in add chickens 7 days later. UNLESS...you have a separate hatcher, then it does not matter.
