That looks like a Red Sexlink(gold comets, red stars, etc...) Cockerel.

I think I've been in denial about its gender:( but my other chicks don't have a comb like that. I can't have a roo and of course it's my 8 year old daughters, who will be heartbroken when I have to rehome it. Thank you!! I needed someone else's opinion to get me out of my denial.

Good morning folks

it's funny how we get attached to animals
and they become important parts of our lives
I have met many wonderful pets and been
lucky enough to call some my best friend and
it has always been hard to say goodbye to them

hope your day is a good one

Just watched teenagers cut in to the opposite lane to kill

one of my young roosters that had been chased out there by my big dominate rooster. this wasn't a 'o we can't slow down' or 'O we didn't see it in time.' This was a slow down, aim, veer into other lane, and run my bird down! Soooo angry!

I can't believe how heartless people can be!
This is so horrible!!!
I am so sorry this happened to you.
I can't even imagine someone doing this!!!!!
What kind of parents raised these kids!
I wish you were able to figure out who they are.

I need some help on a compost bin!!!

We had a worm bin that I started to try and compost, but they aren't producing very well so I'm just going to throw most in my garden and the rest to my chickens and be done with it!

A lot of table scraps go to the chickens already, but no banana peels, coffee grinds or egg shells which we go through a ton of.

We live on a small lot so I want something that doesn't smell too much.

Someone told me I have to keep the poo and the food compost separate? Is this true?
I've seen some pre-made bins online, are they worth the price?
What are you guys using?

Thanks for the help!!!
