North Carolina

Good Morning everyone, hope you all have a great weekend!!!

All 3 of my barred rocks came running up to me for treats this morning for the first time in 3 days so I think these antibiotics worked!!!

A few still have some runny noses, but doesn't look like I will lose anyone.

Hoping the thunder storms hold off so I can get some work done today. My husband is leaving for a month tomorrow, so I need all the help I can get before then!

If any of you are headed to Raeford Rd TSC for flock swap (heard there was one), maybe I'll see you, I have to run up there this morning for more of those Happy Hen mealworms for my girls.

Happy Saturday!!!

I am in orange county NC near Hillsborough this is my first year hatching eggs we got the fever so bad we bought 5 incubators and filled all of them.I also have Royal Palm poults and am trying my hand at incubating peafowls

the zoo is in Ashville, 2 hour drive from Fayetteville. Send them kids on a egg hunt

Hehe...I had already planned on the zoo, guess that might be too far of a drive with a newbie...maybe I can just send my sister and her kids...ALONE to it?!? LOL. LOVE the "egg hunt" idea, thank you!!
Yeah...come up with a prize for whomever finds the duck nest and send them hunting. And don't work too hard trying to keep those kids entertained. Really. One trip somewhere, or even two, depending on how long they stay, would be nice of you. Just pull out a deck of cards or some board games or a jigsaw puzzle, and let the kids figure it out or be bored. And a pointed reminder that someone saying "I'm bored" means you get your chicken coops cleaned out may get them figuring out how to entertain themselves!

Oh....I got up to find that someone...likely Levi...has diarrhea. My house is a disaster, but I'm working on it.
GENIUS!! I might have a spotless coop and run in just a matter of hours knowing them!! LOL. I planned on giving them "easy" chores to do (collecting eggs, feeding/changing water dishes/refilling water dishes, etc...). We have a horseshoe game and a few other games that can be played outside, so hopefully that will work. I know my sister will opt for hanging out in AC with the baby!! Hmmm...maybe I can convince my mother to come as well and then SHE can entertain them...LOL I dread cooking for them too as they ONLY eat take out (my sister RARELY cooks and when she does it's usually boxed junk). Maybe I should just hide out for their visit...who wants to take me in for that week?? LOL JK

Hollow - so sorry to hear about Levi!!

WELCOME to all the new folks. Sorry about the rain/thunderstorms. I honestly did diapers earlier in the week so it would rain BEFORE this weekend, guess my plan backfired. LOL

Okay everyone, I have a "not right" pullet still, I posted on BYC and got only a little help. I need suggestions, ideas, etc.
here is the link for the main story https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/778369/staggering-pullet-whats-wrong/20#post_11214257

I am unsure when I can or if i should put her with the rest of the flock. She has improved some, still unsteady and a little staggering, but upright more often than not. I have supplemented with vitamins in the water and isolation, thats the only treatment.
