thanks, she was pretty. I aint hatched a pure silkie in 2 years, only my silkie projects, but I got pure eggs that can be hatched

I have been emailed a few times wanting to know when, where the next shows are. SO.....

Oct 5th - Franklin, NC - This is a first time show and I know nothing about the folks trying to get it started. I did read somewhere that they are limiting the show to 400 birds. I assume that is all the cages they have since it is a new show. Hopefully they will make it a success and grow with time.

Oct 26 - Morganton, NC - FPC Annual Show. This should be a large show for NC(900-1200 birds) and has been growing each time. I will be setting up a website midSummer with the show catalog for those that don't need to be mailed physical copy. This Fall I plan to have online and/or email registration for those that are wanting to save postage. The registration/info contact this year is changing from Brian Price to Carol Hipps(phone/email) and Matt(email/website).

Nov 2 - Old English Jamboree - Scheduled for Morganton, but may be moving out of state. That is just a rumor, so for now expect it in Morganton this year. This show is ONLY old english game bantams

Nov 30 - Winston-Salem, NC - FFFA annual fall show is normally the largest NC show of the Fall season with 1000-1400 birds.

Dec 14 - Smithfield, NC - Cape fear show - http://www.capefearpoultryassociation.embarqspace.com

The ABA national will be held in Knoxville, Tennessee this year on Dec 6-8. This will be a GIANT show and if anyone can make the drive I would recommend it. Should be the largest show in the US this year. http://tnvpoultryclub.com/ Most national breed clubs with bantams will be hosting large meets at this show as well.

I am definately going. Not sure where I will be staying yet. I am going with a cheap-o hotel, I do know that.

Does having sand in the run add flea problems?

. Guess my "Girls Club" sign will have to be amended. Thinking of adding a sign under "Girls Club" - "Rooster Protected"

Or, just add "Mostly" to the current sign!

I still need to paint my coop. I really am not a red fan - but barnyard red seems to be the go-to color for chicken coops. Maybe I'll go against the grain...

So totally unchicken related, but I find myself with next to no one to talk to with my husband gone....

I told my 7 year old he could get his haircut however he wanted for summer (his hair is super thick and hot).
He told me he wants a BLUE mohawk!!! Not what I was going for!
Somehow I think this is going to be a disaster, but trying it tonight......
