We look at the coop as a place we don't have to conform. Get crazy! In fact, when we got the paint at Home Depot, the paint lady was so inspired she went home and painted her rabbit hutches - and loved it. She said she always loved going out in the yard to enjoy the bunnies but the colorful hutches added even more cheer. My coop is boring white! with a silver metal roof, matches the real house actually.
Good morning folks![]()
It is funny the conceptions that some people
have about chickens
my BIL had posted a pic of some silkies and said
they looked like aliens.....his DD2 thought they were
cute aliens and I posted my DD@ has some and they
are cute little chickens...... at this point I will tell you
his DD2 is an adult in her 20s.......anyway she got all
excited about the thought of them having chickens when
I offered hatching eggs and asked " Do they lay eggs?"
I smiled to myself and told her yes they do. She admitted
that was a silly question and then asked if you can eat the
eggs........she's on a roll here and I'm all but laughing hard
I suggested they get a bator and build a coop and I'd send
eggs and she said "yay......I see a BBQ and coop building
party happening" I told them that by this time next year
they could be BBQing their own chickens and she said
oh no.......chickens aren't for eating.....she is not a vegetarian
......so I said that we eat the extra roos and she asked if they
taste like regular chickens???? that's when I lost it![]()

Guess they just don't come over in the city.
I miss them!!!
