Yep! Pellets did wonders for it! Let them sit today and TADA! It's nearly completely dry! Still a little slippery in there but I'm going to shovel it all out after the sun stops beatings to death!now only if the flies would stick to the darn fly strips I put up around the coop! Lolol
My RIRs have just started laying last week and they clear all the hay out the nesting boxes as well. I haven't had any broken eggs from them, but Ms. Piggy, my BA, has had cracked eggs everyday because she goes in there right after the RIRs are done. I just think her eggs are not as hard yet. I don't know what to do to stop it, but I am open to any suggestions.Well, my hubby says I'm now an official "mother hen" !! I've had 2 eggs. The first one was very thin shelled and was a little bit cracked. The second one was two days later (today) and it was in good shape. I think it is "Frack" who has laid the egg. Frick should be close behind. They are both RIR and are the same age. The crazy thing is that when it goes into the box to lay the egg, it clears out all the straw from the middle of the box and lays the egg on the board bottom of the box....I don't know if the first one was slightly cracked but this second one was in good shape. What should I do about the ?![]()
