Yes the are! We won't make that go away for you here - we are enablers!ha thank you for the Tuesday morning laugh!!!! and thats what I thought but everyone I know has either Hybrids or rhode Island reds or they have them but they just aren't fertile.
Chickens Are Addicting!!!!
I have finally had a chance to get some pics of the chicken housing that my DH has so diligently worked on for me. I am so thankful that he is able to build like this. I help as I can but he has done all of it himself and sometimes with a friend of ours. I just love the sand because it makes it SOO much easier to keep clean and and thus, minimize the nasty flies. I've still got a few things I'm tinkering with but so far, it is working well.
The baby area allows the younger chicks to play and try their wings without being bossed around by the older hens. When there are no babies, I just leave the door open and the hens will lay eggs in those nest boxes.

Rooster living quarters and guineas at night.
You cant really see the 3 separate rooster pens in there, but there are 3 and then where you see the guinea is a large open area for them to go at night. The roosters get that area during the day. Today, I attached several 10' dog run panels to the outside of the rooster area so they can go outside in the grass if they want. It also gives me another place to put the ones who decide to act mean!
Hopefully, I can find someone to take the 10 roosters I don't need and there will be a lot less rooster drama....ugh! Too bad there isn't a way to get all the hatching eggs to be hens.....
Happy 4th!
