Great looking pens! Beautiful Silver Wyandottes and Marans! Might have to get me some Marans now! Especially love those feeders, you got my gears turning for ideas. Random thought, did Ramirez lake ever dry up? I could use another good fishing hole! Lol! I think there is a flock swap this weekend, thanks for the tip on the relocation. Its already hot on the existing side so I can only imagine moving to the new side.

Last thought... Anyday you can trade 11 chickens for a generator, that's a good day! Hurts to get rid of your babies but sounds like you got the better end of that deal. Assuming the generator was in good to fair condition. I raise and sell birds and sometimes have to catch myself hoarding chickens and not wanting to sell them! Like, what in the world am I going to do with all these birds if I don't sell some! Wheeeeew! What a tough life we live.

I LOVE THOSE FEEDERS!  Are the specs somewhere online that you can refer me to?

The feeders are just 3" pvc pipe with an end cap on bottom, a y-connector, then a straight piece cut to desired length, then a cap for the top. Easy and cheap! My dad and son made them for me. The gate is made of 1*4 lumber, just a box attached to the inside of coop with a barrel bolt to hold the feeders in. I can pull out the feeder when it needs to be refilled. I did one for oyster, one for food, and one for grit.

we actually just finished the coop and office, its a two story building . bottom floor is coops and runs, top floor is the office which hasnt been fully completed but its getting there, we will most likely be open next year, because the white leg horns have just started laying. But i will take a few photos after i get home from work today. I usually get home around 6 depending on traffic in charlotte and on 485

So far only five or six out of thirty are not distinguishable between fertile or non-fertile. Fingers crossed that all hatch nice , and healthy. Selling day olds ( Hatching 8-11-13 Through 8-15-13 Depending on hatch date) , Selling price not yet determined.

Greechickenman: from what I understand te carburetor just needs to be flushed out. It still runs but needs a good flushing. It's a Honda, that's about all I know. Wouldn't hurt my feelings so bad if it had just been a few of my hens but my big fat rooster his name was big man. This rooster would sit in my lap on the porch after supper every night! I'm going to miss him so much! :'( it stinks. I wish there was some way I could get him back. I cried like a big baby. I even kissed him good bye. So sad I know but I'm sure we have all done it! Goodnight everyone. Last day to get out of here tomorrow. I'm praying DH can take half a day to get the floor repaired and walls painted and go to the dump and cut the grass and get what left in here out. Not much. Just a little food in the fridge bed frame ( we are sleeping on the floor for 2 nights now) a few boxes of clothes and bathroom stuff my dogs cat rabbit and all these chickens and at least have a makeshift chicken coop done. :-( and I have to tear up the garden and sweep and mop and get out the washer and dryer. It's going to be a really crappy day tomorrow. We would've slept in the camper tonight but...DH accidentally put the keys in a box that is in the pack house at my parents and we didnt realize it til it was too late and there is no way to break in that thing. It's a pop up camper...so...anyway I'm babbling! Everyone wish me lots of energy and progress tomorrow!
