Quote: I have 8 right now. 1 kinda yellow one (Patty)

3 splash marans (Francis up above) the two youngers don't have names yet

2 gray ones (the one not eating is Pig)

and a black one (Becky)

And an off-white one

Except for the Marans they are all kind of a mixed bag. I got them from doubleatraining and if I wan't such a spaz I could probably tell you what she said they were. All I saw were chickens...she could have said one of them layed a golden egg and I wouldn't have heard it.

Two girls are laying and their eggs are brown. Francis isn't laying yet but I hope her eggs are dark. I have room for a few more. I'd like a Barnevelder or Welsummer, an Orpington (Chocolate, Lavender, Lemon Cuckoo) or two, an Olive Egger and who knows what else.

The three littlest ones are the most friendly. The older birds are starting to get to the point where they don't run when I walk by them...just when I try to catch them.

I've had a lot of people tell me Brahmas are pretty awesome and Cochins too. We have several hatch-o-holics on here and they are constantly tempting me with tales on different breeds. Lord help me if I ever get an incubator!!

I just followed your link. What kind of breeds do you sell? And what type of goats were those?!?!?! We have two little Nigerian Dwarfs (Sweeeetest things ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and we are most definetely wanting more goats. They are so sweet and excellent little-all natural lawnmowers!!!!!!!!!!

I have no doubts on that! I think I might just throw the bag of dust at him and hope it hits him. Mmmm...maybe even knock him out for a few minutes, than I can re-do his spurs and beak

Thanks! I'm always happy to have new followers.

Right now I have:
-White Bresse Hens
-Sussex Hens
-4 week old pullet chicks (barred rocks, easter eggers, brown egg layers)

Later this year/spring:
Blue Sex Links
Dual Purpose Meat birds
Basque
Crested Cream Legbars
Barred Blue Egg Layers

Yes, those are Nigerian Dwarfs. I have more due this fall and plan on breeding some back in October for a March delivery. What are you looking for?

I am so afraid of getting an incubator for that very reason. I'd end up wanting to hatch new ones every day. :)

For now I'm aiming for more "Toddler Hardy" breeds. As the boys grow though I can get ones that require a little more work to get them tame. And Goats. Want them too. Looking for some Nigerians, but don't have any fence of any kind so will be a while down the road. I've also recently discovered "mini cows". Who knew?! May opt for that instead of the goats, but I only have 2.5 acres so will more likely go with the goats.

@ Lizabell: Those are some pretty birds! If any of them lay a golden egg you'll have to let me know.

@ doublea: I followed your link. I may have to have a chat with you down the road about some goats. :) Unless you're giving them away free with a fence though it'll have to be a while.

Welcome to all the newbies! It has been verryyyy busy around here since school atarted, but I wanted to share a pic of my SLW hen that I thought was a roo - hah! She is the last to get her wattles & comb, and the only one not laying. Her meanie Leghorn sisters pulled some of her tail feathers... but she is still pretty
