It works better for me that weekend since the following I have to drive my soon to Maryland. I hope it works out you guys can go if you want yip. We booked a hotel. They are way expensive being by Biltmore, but I did a name my own price on Priceline & got a nice hotel in downtown Asheville. Its about 15 20 min from the fair grounds but its a nice place & got it for $80 after taxes/fees (most were $160-$180 after taxes!) Even the motels by airport were like $100 after fee. So anyone looking at staying I'd recommend doing it that way of you're on a budget like me!

Also don't forget AARP and AAA offer discounts at a lot of hotels.
I love AAA........it was a life saver on the epic summer trip across
the country.

Good morning folks

I know I'm not looking forward to the cold of winter
but if it gets much warmer it will be more like spring
and as much as I hurt from it, we need the cold to
help reset the cycle of things. It is hard to select clothes
for the workday when it's frosty in the early morning
and in the 50s, 60s or 70s in the afternoon.

hope everyone has a good day

You could probably find a cheaper room in Fletcher, which is where the fairgrounds are located.

I'm really glad you all are having good days and have plans for future little chicks. Today was a yard work day for my hubby and I. I've been "talking" to my dh about using parts of the kids backyard playground as another chicken coop. Today we were taking off some bush cuttings to the treeline so I stopped at the playground on the way back up to the house......told him I wanted to get his "thoughts and advice on the "possibilities" of a coop and how he would do it. (LOL) Got to go about this from that direction with him. He is not a chicken person! I've been talking about this for a while ..trying to get him used to the idea. He is not the type to pick up a hammer or saw. (I do that and always have!) Well, "we" decided which part would be good to use and how to go about it. But then I found out that he was (for some reason) thinking that this would not be an additional coop but an "instead of" coop!!!! LOLOL And I thought I was the one who caught on more slowly!!! Actually, he is very smart....just not about things he doesn't want to really "see" or acknowledge. As I said, he is not a "chicken" person. But at least he will now know what I'm doing when I'm driving in with a couple of 4x4's and some plywood. I'm going to disassemble the ramp at the other end and use those in the structure. So, you all say a little prayer as I start to build a second small coop. I want to get it ready for some pullets in the spring.. I might even get a rooster with this next group. Planning on some Americauna's and hopefully might be able to get a maran rooster/hen. I know they can be expensive but mayb for my birthday??? We'll see.....

Your coop idea should work, Go for it!1 The Americaunas and Maran pair should not be too pricey, It will depend on just what colors/strains you want! We got both at a reasonable cost.
Will have eggs for sell when they start up again this Spring
