North Carolina

I'm catching up....

DST, condolences for the loss of your uncle.

Wild, hope you get some heat and water back today! Glad you have the dogs, at least. Stay safe!

CSB, I'm with you. I just wanna stay in my nice warm bed instead of schlepping gallons of hot water out to the barn and chicken houses.

some of today's eggs ....mostly from some of my POLs. Some of those girls
are going into the breeding pen

Very nice! I love it when the new girls start laying

I took a picture day before yesterday of my eggs because I was so proud that my POL Olive Eggers had started laying. I posted on facebook but didn't think to post on here. Will do that in a minute

Abover are the day before yesterday's eggs.

Last spring I purchased Lavender Amerucana hatching eggs from CSB. Some of the pretty blue eggs are from those hens. I have my buff orps in a breeding pen and am going to put the Leghorns in with a splash Amerucana roo this weekend. This will be a repeat of the Leghorn/AM breeding, I put 19 of those eggs in the incubator a couple of weeks ago. Of the 19, 17 were fertle

I should have chicks soon and am very much looking forward to having Super Blue Egg Layers! I love baby chicks.

DST, Sorry about your uncle. I am very happy that the cochin's eye looks better - fingers crossed!

Wild, how awful! I hope you are doing ok and everything gets fixed up quickly.

Hopefully everyone is doing ok with the freezing temps. The good news is that we will be above freezing very soon!

My office is so cold that I am wearing my purple fingerless gloves and have a scarf on my shoulders.
