Aw man, as much as I would love to go to the Cedar Creek one, that would be a one hour drive! Versus a 15 minute drive to Town and Country!
Is it a good deal better, though? I've never been very impressed with what I've seen at T&C's flock swaps.. But I'm probably not going when @Coop Scoop Boogie is there!

If I get desperate enough, I may just have to drive an hour and check Cedar Creek out!

One reason I quit going to Town and Country is the hour + drive for me.
The one in Cedar Creek which I guess some call the East Fayetteville swap,
is only about 30 mins. drive. When I was selling at T&C I usually sold what I had
and for a fair price. I don't care for the one at TSC in Fayetteville but that is just

Fair enough! Sounds like you have the same problem as me with distance! Glad you found one closer
I'll let you know how I did! Hoping to come back with empty crates!!! I'm only trying to sell 2 roosters and 4 POLs this go around so fingers crossed!

Last time i went to the east fayetteville swap i was very disappointed with the bird choices. They were mostly silkies and some egg layer hens. I was looking for ameracaunas but i only saw one and it was scraggly.

one thing that really bothered me was some guy with a bunch of cages full of birds in direct sunlight. It was in the 90's that day. I wanted to tell him to do something caused the birds looked ready to pass out. but i didn't want to be rude.

Do you gus recoment tose auctions to go and see? id love to see all the wonderful birds! is there pure breed show birds there too?

There is pure bred birds there, but you need to know what to look for as alot will go through as pure bred and they are mixes. It all depends on what people bring to sell. Kind of like flock swaps, all depends on who comes and what they bring. As to show birds from an auction, if it is pure bred it might be ok at the state fair, but I wouldn't count on them doing well at a real chicken show. I wouldn't take a bird to the state fair to save my life, but that's another story. If you go and you think you might want to buy anything, check it out real good first. Most places won't let you take the animal out of the box it's in, but make sure you look at the eyes, nose, and all for any signs that it could be sick. If you do buy any thing make sure you quarantine it for at least a month. I like to go not to buy birds but to visit with friends and have a good time talking, which doesn't happen often anymore.

I agree..........when I buy a new bird from anywhere or
anyone I will look the bird over carefully to sure it looks
healthy and when I bring it home it goes into a quarantine
area for 30-45 days well away from my other birds.
I go to the swaps to sell my birds because I prefer not to
have the potential of folks bringing unknown illness to the
place.......practicing bio-security. I really enjoy the chatting
with folks at the swaps and auctions, they are at least great
for that.

I'm so paranoid after what happened a year ago I won't even go to flock swaps. I'm afraid someone's going to touch my birds & give them something or I'll bring home something on my tires or shoes.

Makes it a lot harder to sell my birds though because I don't think a lot of people check craigslist for poultry. I don't know where else to advertise though, I don't want to ship live birds

Hey NC folks! I have a small backyard flock here in Greenville and I have a pure Serama cockerel that I need to rehome. His name is Demi and he is very small. Born October 7th...i hatched them under my Silky, the eggs came from a Serama breeder in Pennsylvania and you can actually see the parents online at her website.
I hate to part with him but I'm not supposed to keep roos here..
I would love to find someone who appreciates Seramas to give him a good home.
Any interest out there?
