the dog will b rehomed. she is a very smart and good dog I love her, but I love my chickens more. I just don't plan to get another dog I don't think .. I will just keep Tiara my t cup yorkie..

You are right, blackhead is the disease turkeys are susceptible to that chickens can carry. I haven't had an issue with it either and hope I never do but I have also read that cayenne pepper can prevent it (and possibly cure it if caught early enough). I believe blackhead disease is caused by nematodes and the cayenne kills them.
I bought cayenne fruit capsules at Walmart and give a couple to my turkey every now and then. She's such a silly pig, literally gobbles them up like they are candy.

Greenchickenman, just to be clear...I wasn't speaking negatively about your chicks. Just speaking about the Mareks vaccine. Some choose it; some don't. When I order from a hatchery, I make sure to choose unvaccinated. You may want to consider having the choice like the big hatcheries do. And good luck to you as you move into your second year.
