North Carolina

If you were nearer to me, I'd say get it at the place I get mine at. The feed store near me (in Burlington) sells 40# bags of food grade DE for (if I remember correctly) around $16.00. Best price I've seen so far.

Anyone know if $289 for 330 feet of 4 foot high goat fencing is a good price? It's a better price than Lowes, but I'm wondering if I should continue looking for a better price, or take that one?

Hope everyone is doing well! I'm glad the rain is over, just wish the temps were a bit higher, my Fibromyalgia doesn't like these cold temps.

Hello to all------Sampson co. here 30 minutes from fayetteville!!

Have seen some folks talking about finding a new place. Just wanted to let everyone know there is a place for rent over by me. It is by Spurlock School on a dirt road outside Raeford. It includes prolly three acres or more of land and is a nice home (from the outside). It just went up and not sure about the price, but if interested PM me and I will copy down the phone number the next time I pass by.

Hey all! Just back from a trip to Pittsburgh. Had to visit the hubs grandma so she can meet the kids before her mind goes completely. For being 96 1/2 she's doing remarkably well, but I still had to introduce myself and the kids each day we went to see her. :( The boys finally got to meet the great Aunt and Uncle and one of the cousins on that side too. Came back and one of my chickens has vanished into thin air. :/ The bird netting is still in tact over the run, and the fence to the run seems untouched. Odd. The only thing I can figure is that she snuck out when our friend came by to check on them and he didn't notice. Or one of the neighbors came and helped themselves. No way to know for sure though, but I'm back to locking the run entrance with a combination padlock. At least it was only one, and not the one that's laying. Down to just the 8 birds now. :( I got my order in to Murray though and will be getting 15 more the last week of May. Yay!!!! So excited!

Still only the one Ameraucana/EE laying. My Brahma should be laying by now I thought - she's 28 weeks as of yesterday. Expecting her and the two remaining red stars to start laying any day now. The stars (and the Orps) are 19 weeks as of yesterday. They should all be in production by the end of April right? My EE is laying an egg a day almost. We got seven out of her the 8 days we were gone. :)

The "garden" I started in my bathtub is going a little too well. The asparagus and the peas are outgrowing their starter pots and I still can't move them outside just yet. Strawberries, radishes, beets and tomatoes are doing well also. Lost all the lettuce and herbs while we were out of town though.

I am SO ready for spring!!!

Still trying to catch up on all the posts while I was gone.
