Curious....
for those with experience in a variety of backyard poultry

How would you rank these as far as being noisiest?

Peafowl, tom turkey, rooster, female duck, chicken

I had no idea my pekins were going to be this loud. I'm so sad because they're my favorite. But apparently right up there with call ducks as being the noisiest. Only quiet ones look like Muscovy & I just can't get over their faces. I've wanted peafowl forever I'm wondering if they'd be any louder than these ducks going all night? They're definitely louder than my Tom. And they make way more noise than my rooster ever did even though the actual crow was louder.

They are pretty loud lol peafowl fowl are really loud but mainly during mating season and not as constant but hey if you can't find a buyer I have plenty of land lol

hey guys im thinking of setting out a few veggie plants.. do yall know if my chickens will eat them ? like should I set them where the chickens cant get them ? I was thinking chickens would be natural bug control but idk if they will eat the plants

My chickens ate eveything in my garden last year. An I mean EVERYtHIng! Bugs leaves stems and veggies too. I think I got 2 tomatoes and 6 squash and a few zucchini off about an acre of corn squash watermelon cabbage zucchini pumpkin tomatoes turnips collards and beans. And we had it fenced in and it did NOT stop my little ravenous hungry birds. :) I wouldn't let them free range unless you can be RIGHT there to keep them out. Lol

I really wanted to keep 3 of the Pekin girls & 1 Pekin drake, but they're the loudest out of all of them.

We're going to process all of them & see if the others quiet down.
If not might end up with just a pair of drakes as pets for the kids.
I haven't slept in a week as their pen is right under my bedroom window (and about 15 ft from my neighbor's bed room window, really should have put them on the other side of the yard by the chickens...)

I made my husband process his beloved tom turkey since he was just too loud with mating season. These girls are worse than he was so gotta go

I just can't bring myself to...ya know. It's horrible! He just looks at me and loves me so much. He's become like my best friend. :( sad I know. I have no life. He talks to me and he walks around the yard with me. It's no good. I cry just thinking about it. I don't see anything blocking in there but he won't let me get the best look. Poor rooster. :( after these chickens "go" I will never get anymore. Too much heartache when they "leave"
