The work of these birds wasn't mine, so I can't take that credit. Bhep was the one that found the eggs for me that these came from, so I can't take that credit either. But my son and I will be working on getting them even better.I am also planning to come to the poultry club meeting. It's on the 18th?
Congratulations RF. Hard work pays off!
I haven't yet decided if I want to try showing, but I might want to get in on classes to prepare for it regardless. It'll help me know what I'm looking at when I go to shows, if nothing else.
Looks like a gorgeous day coming on. Hope you all enjoy it!
Can anyone suggest a poultry vet in the Siler City/Pittsboro area? I can travel to Sanford if need be.
I have a young chick with an impacted crop. We've made some progress with separating her from the others and taking her out several times since yesterday afternoon to massage the crop until she vomits. The swelling has gone down some and she seems to be more alert this morning. But the swelling is still there and I'm not convinced that the problem is solved.
There is a girl on the York SC facebook group that had some. Don't know if she still does or not.Does anyone in the WNC area have any Bantam Polish for sale?( Or upstate SC or eastern TN?) I have 7 hens and I need a rooster. Any color. I will take any age even unsexed chicks in the hope that one may be a cockerel. I could order some from a hatchery but I don't need 25 Bantam WC Blacks!
I would recommend Johnny Woods not sure what his number is any more ,he lives in Angier.. When I had my show Arabians
he was the only one I would let do them.. another good one is Thomas Flood same area
Anyone know where I can get some REALLY good Black Copper Marans eggs?
I bought eggs off ebay from a breeder, once for blue and once for black.
Both chickens have really good coloring & nicely feathered shanks (the blue moreso than the black), and I'm getting dark eggs, but I want DARK eggs. I know they go through cycles and will be darker at different times, but mine have never been as dark as some of the darkest I've seen in pictures.
It doesn't HAVE to be show quality as I'm not showing, but I'd like it to be as close as possible.
Thank you.
