Good morning folks

Other than having to work on Saturday, it was a nice weekend.
There was a lot of things going on around Fayetteville this past
weekend......sure hope some of you got to enjoy them.

The one Americauna/EE was the worst. Found bugs on most of the others though. Doused the nest boxes pretty good. Used about a whole can on the four boxes. Is there a bigger container of sevin dust that you can get? If nothing else can use it on the garden.

I know Champion Milling in Dun sells a version called Tiger brand, I think its a 10 lb bag. I'll look later this morning at the new bag I just got. But it's just like sevin dust.

My little Bobwhite Quail eggs hatched!!

So cute! I had no idea how much I would LOVE Quail. We kept 5 girls out of the last hatch and they are the sweetest things. They let my kids hold them and when we're outside we'll let them out of the cage with us. They never fly off, just dust around in the sun, and when you're ready to put them away they let you pick them up. From what other's say about them flying off I don't know that that's necessarily typical, but I've had great luck with them. I should be hatching another batch of coturnix this Fall.


Oh, for those with quail... When you do have extra (eating eggs not hatching) how much do you sell them for? I have no concept of the going rate on them. I figured less than chicken eggs, but not too cheap as they're fairly hard to get (can't go in the regular grocery store for them)? Right now I'm getting 5 a day and we can't eat that many, thought I'd try to sell a few of the extras. Thanks!

Seriously, what an awesome gift....so very cool. Also didn't realize they lived that long. Bird for life!

Discontinuing Sevin?? NO!! Has anyone found an equivalent/substitute you'd recommend??

I use it too and it seems to work as well as Sevin.
