I hung cabbage tether balls in three chicken houses yesterday since we left at 3:30 am and I wasn't letting them out. The Welsummer pen had only the core left when we got home at dusk. The EE pen had lace. The English Orpingtons had turned their noses up and hadn't touched theirs! I moved it to the breeding pen that has the Golden Cuckoo Marans this morning, and they loved it. Silly Orpingtons!
Speaking of Orps, what's with the new trend I see to add an "h" to the word and spell it "Orphington"? I don't get it!
And...hubby is about to start on the last chicken house! Woohoo! Can't wait for it to be done. Then everyone will have their own pasture section. I'm loving it!

I'm so excited for you getting your coop done! And I'm glad your hubby is so sweet to help you with that! LOL.....bought one of those balls in my hen's run....finally had to take it out because they hadn't touched it after a week!!! Have tried lettuce and spinach but there must be something about the ball! Wouldn't touch that either! LOL If I had the $$, I would hire a hubby to build me a coop! I have a friend who runs an international building business....he had friend who ordered a chicken coop roof.....but this friend never came after it. Don't know how big it is but he's going to give it to me !! AND he's going to gather some of the things they have laying around that is too small for them to use one the BIG things he does.. Can't wait....

I know it doesn't compare with all of you out of town living on farms, but putting all the little bit of land I have to work. Now on to the backyard....
