Good morning folks

It seems a road trip to see a show in Knoxville, Tn. is in my future.
I admit I enjoy driving and seeing new places and it will be interesting
to see what is suppose to be a large show. I hope to get to see some
different breeds from what I have already seen. Either way it will be
an adventure.

I live in Pittsboro. 2 of my 6 chicks ended up being roosters. Is anyone nearby interested in a white silkie roo?

He is 4 months old. We have hand raised him from 1 week old. My children have named him Olaf. :)

Hey everyone. Is anyone interested in some bantams? I'm selling my Japanase BTB bantam (Black Tailed Buff) trio with a Golden Campine bantam. The only problem is, whoever they are going with we are asking you to take their little coop with them. I've decided on a set price that would include the coop and the four birds. We are wanting to get Seramas, but unfortunately we don't have unlimited space and we need to make room for them. However we are wanting a little different set up for them than what we have for the Japanese bantams. The Japanese are about 16 months old and the Golden Campine is only about 13 months old.

Quick question....when I went out to feed the chickens yesterday I noticed that their food wasn't gone. Typically, the feeder is empty. I'm sure some of it has to do with the fact that I have switched them over to Layena (although after reading the article on the front page last week, I'm going to try that mix out!). The "pellets" are bigger and maybe they can't make as much of a mess with them as normal, but I didn't see any laying around either.
Do chickens slow their eating habits at some point within the first year? Are they just being picky?

Mine use to only eat pellets, couldn't get them to touch corn. Now mine will eat corn but mostly in winter. I have noticed that in the warm months the pellets go first while in the cooler/cold months the corn goes first. And yes they can slow down or pick up how much they want to eat, just like humans.

Polish Crested Splash 3 1/2 Months - Needs Home

This sweet baby crowed for the first time this morning, which means he needs to find his forever flock.
He makes the 3rd roo in my tiny flock and although I love him dearly, he needs girls who will love him for the handsome Polish Crested Splash that he is.
He is about 3 1/2 months old (hatched late April) Hand raised from 2 weeks by our family, and friendly. We love his crazy strut and he's the smartest of our chickens (if smart chicken isn't an oxy moron)
We've been calling him "Blondie"
We live in the Cumberland County area and hope to re home him nearby
