Well, I'm back. I used to post here a couple of years ago, but moved away to Brazil. I'm back in NC now. Things didn't work out there, unfortunately.

I've moved back in my old house and have started with my first few hens. I lost two roosters to a raccoon, but trapped and relocated the raccoon. I'm looking for a new rooster and more hens now. I'm in Zebulon, just East of Raleigh.

You sure opened the flood gates saying you want a rooster
....... hope you find a good one. There is a swap at Cedar Creek
this Saturday on Hwy 210/53 just outside of Fayetteville but
that may be a bit far for you.

Yay for cooler weather beginning tomorrow!! I will finally feel like finishing some chicken-related projects!

I was wondering if anyone in NC breeds Exchequer Leghorns? I have two at point of lay and would love to add a couple more. I am happy to buy hatching eggs or chicks or pullets.

I hit a really big problem in my coop today. I went to check on wveryone and saw the little roos have blood dried and scabs on their faces. I realized my one black roo was sitting in the corner behind the wood. I grabbed him to see the entire right side of his face dried with blood and scabs everywhere, almost entirely scalped on that side PLUS his eye was totally sealed shut! I was shaking and took q sponge and water to the outside faucet. i had to be a doctor myself. I wet the sponge to let the blood get soft and sat it over his lid. I felt him blinking underneath so i know his eye is ok. About 10 mins later its somewhat open but hard to all the way bc of the massive scabs. If course i didnt have my phone for pics. I put him in a temporary coop outside and came back with my beighbor who lives my birds and uve given a few to him before. I offered him a white roo so i gave him my best one. He has him in a show chicken coop by himself. I check on the messed up eye one to find now his eye can close all the way very well. I hope it wont dry out and he wont loose it. I still have to separate the other two white roos somehow! I need them gone fast before more disasters happen! I hope the one doesnt loose his eye! They need homes FAST!

Im located in fuquay. Im at the poi t where i will just give these precious boys away to keep them safe. PLEASE pm me. Ive been looking for homes for over 2 months now and im at the point where i can do this no more....its crazy.

As long as its a good home, theyre your for free! Please PM! There is 2 beautiful white babies that look like brahmas and the black one whos eye is being cared for. They are all siblings from the same hatch, dad a BTW jap bantam and mom splash silkie hen.

This is the babies full grown brother (not for sale) who is black. The black chick should end up filling in like this roo, but the white is a newly hatched color from the crosses so i cant predict their coloration, but im sure they would be beautiful
