This. Dieses like MG can be dormant a month or more. Quatantine is critically important.

Always quarantine, no matter where it comes from.

). I quarantine for 60 to 90 days (sometimes longer as I have tendency to forget to move them once their qt time is done and don't bring in many new birds to need the qt space all that often).

X2, the old owner may not know the bird is sick or it can even be a case of your place/ chickens makes the new birds sick, even though your birds don't look or act sick (love how some diseases have different strains ). I'm the seller and totally agree. The stress alone can cause problems to surface let alone the social integration. I should have reminded the buyer. I always quarantine as well. And use antibacterial between contacts. Thanks much!

They are quarantine from each other. I should have explained a little better. They are not together they are in separate runs but can see each other and they was just fussing at one another thru the fence. They want be in the same run for awhile. I didn't just throw them in together. I do know better

Honestly......effective quarantine is separation far enough apart that airborne
particles can not reach the other birds and preferably also far enough that
insects will not also transfer anything. We use a stock trailer for quarantine
because it gives lots of ventilation and yet there is no direct drafts or breeze
on the birds to blow any particles onto other birds. This trailer is also located
a 1/4 acre away from any other of our birds and although insects can still fly
between the areas they most likely will not feed on birds in both areas. I am
considering a screened in coop for my next quarantine area.

X2. If they can see each other, that is not effective qt. That's one of the reasons I have a closed flock.

Whew. I'm flippin exhausted! DH is nowhere to be found...go figure. Whenever I need help with something...he seems to leave and not come home til he thinks I might be asleep. Unlucky for him I any sleep with him not here. Lol. Got a couple of the walls built for the coop and run today. My arms are killing me!!!!! Screwdrivers suck!!! Pallets suck! It all sucks! But it has to be done and this is a cheap and "easy" way to do it. Still looking for thought and ideas for the pallet coop.

You are so right about tools for women. I had used the circular saw and found that to be heavy for me, but able to handle it fine.(20 yrs ago my muscles were a heck of a lot stronger) LOL. I have also used the drill for both drilling and screwdriver bits.But I also had trouble getting some screws in.. ended up using screws that were originally designed for something else. However, this go 'round I grabbed hold of a reciprocating saw and about met my match.!

I didn't help that I was a 65 yr old woman, patially disabled with balance problem, on top of a ladder trying to trim off the tops....evenly!! LOLOL

Someone called it a tool from Hell and for me,,,it was.

Of course, even thought I had marked the posts so they would be level...nothing was. I had to lay it in the crook of my arm and using the strength from my body to move it thru the 4x4 posts...

Any advice you can give! Any at all. I'm feeling lost here. Lol. Maybe post a pic if possible? I really have to get this done before it gets cold.

If you talk to the guy in the screw dept....there are "course" /"fine".....threaded..  The course screws are the easiest to get all the way end...I have had the same problem.... I bet I have 10 different kinds of screws! 

The coarse ones are the ones I have too. But about half an inch from the head the tread runs out so that's where I'm running into my problem. Thinking about just leaving it that way then I can pull the chicken wire over the heads to hold and won't have to use stupid staple gun!
