It depends on what they are. Yes, most are destined for the freezer at some point. They live a nice bachelor life here free ranging until their time comes. They are humanely processed and then put in the freezer.

ive been having aweful luck with the chicken coop. Saturday I came out to see all of the birds having a great time FREE RANGING! out birds are kept in the coop to protect them from out local hawks and dome dummy came by and let them all out. same thing happened yeaterday and today. I need to find a way to shoo them away besides locking my coop. ive thought of a game camera to find out who it is, but I don't own one. OH why cant people just respect other people's property? when I posted on facebook about how we need to keep the coop shut for their protection from the fox coyotes and wolves here as well, a neighbor claimed there are no wolves when they have been taking my other neighbors cats....the footprint was tested by NC state and its red wolves. OH WHAT TO DO!
Im also looking for quality button quail breeders local to here....if anyone knows of anyone or has a stock right know could you let me know?
ALSO I still have 3 beautiful 4 month old Japanese bantam X silkie roosters, 2 white and a black for sale. I need the gone by the 16th, but aren't really intended to be put in freezer camp. it would be great to let me know if your interested, and I can even give them away if I really need to.

Tikkijane-I've never had guineas that would go in the coop. I've had them for about 13 years but wasn't able to have them while living in Mesa the past 10 years.
Man, my chicks are growing fast! I have 9 Red Broilers, a few Banties and layers and 6 Guineas. The guineas and broilers are especially big. I've had the Red Broilers before but i don't think I've ever seen them grow this fast. I think they arrived on Sept 10 so about 3 1/2 weeks old. I've been opening their giant dog crate during the day to let them run around and after 3-4 days of hiding next to the "mommy lamp" tonight they didn't want to go to bed!
My Doberman and Papillon do a decent job of babysitting. Not all the time, since they're indoor dogs but they have a doggy door and spend quite a bit of time outdoors now.
I thought I lost a duck yesterday, he was missing from early morning until almost dark. He showed up last night as I was locking up the baby chicks. Where did he go? They've recently learned to fly and last week, they all disappeared for most of the day. I have a 3 acre pond but they're afraid of it. Will only go in to wading depth. I have turtles but no snapping turtles. Ducks that won't swim!
I am really enjoying my first ducks. I had no idea that they were so personable! They follow me to the pond when I call them. I have 7 domestic mallards, one has a little crest.
I'm really hoping to find some Red Dorkings early next year. Also, hoping to find a pair of peafowl, just plain old blue ones.i would consider hatching eggs since I'm planning to get an incubator this winter.

Snapping turtles aren't the only turtles that will eat ducks.
If your ducks won't go in the pond you just may have a whole
lot of turtles and maybe even snakes.

Good morning folks
Made it to mid-week already, the first two days seem to have
gone by quickly......almost as quick as the weekend seems to
disappear. The chicks are getting big and need corralled up
into pens..........which means either adjusting hens or making
a new one to hold the grow-outs. The DH is going to kill me.
