Ok thank you! I'll definately check that! Looked and looked.. All I could find was the property deed and the zoning district is RS 40 ? Oh well, I'm not the only person in this neighborhood with chickens ( just a little more ) so I'm not going to worry too much

Right now I have 89 chickens, 33 are bantams. I try to keep the number below 100 by winter time. We are on 1 acre that is fenced in. The 4 gardens are fenced off from the chickens and then there is the house, buildings, woodshed, and in the summer the blueberries are fenced off. That gives the chickens just over half an acre most of the year. There is no smell here. Sadly and tragically I am down to 5 Roosters and 2 cockerels.

Good morning folks

I have been enjoying catching up on all the lovely coops
everyone has. It's been a rough few days for me but I feel
like I am recovering.
The Zoning laws, HOAs and county laws can all be different
and yet all apply for having chickens. I try to keep good relations
with my neighbors. I offer free fertilizer and bring her eggs every
now and then. ......... and I'm not even going to try and count how
many chickens are on these 2 acres but I will say there are a few
more than a few.

hope everyone has a good day

As far as I know, I'm good with all of my neighbors but that certain someone. I give all of them eggs , and a lot are elderly and were raised with chickens, so they enjoy seeing and hearing mine. The other neighbor already doesn't like me. My dog got loose one day and went on his property. He's a big Shepard mix. The guy came to my house cussing me out and threatening to shoot my dog in front of my children. I understand being upset because my dog looks kinda mean, but it was a one time incident and an accident!

I have a English bulldog and you know they look mean and vicious but is laid back and loves kids. I had a neighbor that let it known through the grapevine that if my dog ever ends up in his yard he will kill it. My dog won't never leave the yard ( it's hard enough to get him off the couch). Last summer I walk outside and seen his dog with one of my chicken in his dogs mouth so I shot and killed it. First I called the law then called him and told him to come remove his dead dog off my property. I'm 6 foot tall 250lb marine so I'm not intimidated by to many people. When he showed up he was so upset and so was I cause of what the dog did. The law showed up about the same time he did and told him he needed to remove his dog and himself off my property. He was ranting and raving about how he was going to sue me ect. The deputy let him know real fast the laws about me being able to protect my animals by any need necessary. Needless to say they moved about a month later after there other dog went to my other neighbors house and chased there chicken around the yard and it was shot at but not hit. The owners of the chickens contacted the dog owners landlord and told them the whole situation with his chickens and mine so I'm sure that had a lot with there moving decision. karma

hey everyone, wanted to give a heads up to anyone in search for some new additions...

im supposed to be moving end of February if everything works out, to a lovely one floor ranch style home. its in a neighborhood which isn't the problem....just the cities laws. chickens aren't allowed in that area despite the fact there is 1.74 acres.

I have 12 chickens at the moment and im not sure if I can keep any of them. 4 lovely roosters and 8 sweet hens that have stolen my heart. im very sad to go see them and take care of them because they always love my attention and I feel so sad that I wouldn't be able to have them.

let me know if you would like any. im not selling any at the moment, but I just need some people I could come to when the time comes.

thanks so much!

That's insane!!!! I'm sorry for you. Hope it works out okay.

Karma can be a good friend

Hope all is well with everyone.

Love all the coop ideas. My plans include building another one this spring so my flock can keep growing. I have about an acre of field and almost that of wooded hillside. So I think I can have a few more birds...lol
