Good morning all. I think I'll get some lumber to start building a coop today.

What feed is everyone using? I was using Dumor layer pellets and was getting about 8 eggs a day from my 18 girls, then I switched to Country Acres layer pellets this week and have been getting 12-14 eggs a day! Anyone else see a change when they switch feed?
It would take more than a day if it was due to feed.Yeah,I couldn't decide. It just seemed almost too coincidental that the day after I switched feed egg production increased 50%! When this bag runs out, I'll try the Dumor again and see what happens. Yay experiments!
It's good to hear that other people experience this. T this is my first year with chooks and I'm having a blast!

@FVRM I think I saw some wheaten Americaunas on Craigslist... hatching eggs maybe they were? I'm up in Linden Oaks housing in Cameron, let me know if you need someone to hatch them out for you and I'd be more than happy to hatch some for you if needed.Arranged according to priority
Wheaten ameracaunas roo/pullets/eggs- I have a pair but the roo is an "inbetweener" he has batam in his background so he is smaller than LF but bigger than bantam. And i don't like small birds. Still gonna breed them but I need a LF infusion.
Mille fleur roo OR speckle sussex roo
Sulmtaler roo
FVRM, the people that let me down last fall on the Wheaten/Blue Wheatens has caught up and will be setting me some later into the spring...unless they forget again. I'll remember you need a roo, as I'm sure there will be extras! I'll also be ordering from someone else even later (hatching eggs only) if you want a different bloodline. this one pays attention to egg color, and her birds look good. Further north, though, so must wait.
Went to TSC today and was disappointed to see them with "Americauna" chicks. People like EEs. They should call them properly instead of causing more confusion with Ameraucanas. One of my pet peeves. Shouldn't feed those, but I guess I do anyway.
