Well, we got really lucky and they were able to fix his teeth today. He will have to learn to eat differently for the rest of his life so the fake parts of his teeth don't pop off, but it should stop any cavities.

We are finally home after a road trip to my friend's wedding this weekend. I filled up my incubator before we left and hoped for the best while we were gone. I candled tonight and found 40/41 eggs developing. They should hatch on the 31st. I brought home some more hatching eggs too. I'm hoping the 10 hour car ride didn't scramble them too much. I figure I was far more careful than usps would have been. I'll let them rest tonight and put them in my other incubator tomorrow. Of course, I'll have to find some more eggs to put in it. If it's running, it might as well be full, right?

We have a great neighbor that takes care of all our animals for us while we are away. I forgot to warn her that I had a few ceramic eggs in one of the best boxes. I can't find them now. There are way too many eggs in my kitchen right now and the ceramic eggs are way too realistic looking..

Lol! You get to have your very one early Easter "egg" hunt :)

Ughh... had to separate my two roos in the main coop today. Youngblood Frizzle guy decided to take on my 3 year old Silkie roo. No one was really wounded, other than the Silkie's pride, and after a bath and blowdry he was perky again. (He was very chatty during his salon visit too... must have been trying to fill me in on the details of his drama lol!)

So, mister 80's Hair Band will be looking for a new home... hopefully the Asheboro TSC will be holding their Flock Swap this Saturday. >:|

Dutchlion, those Lakenvelders are gorgeous btw!

I always enjoy putting a face to a name but my memory is so
awful that it takes a few or so times before I remember the
name to a face.....I sure hope nobody gets upset when I kinda
forget. I remember the face.......just not the name. Makes it
hard too as I don't wan to be rude and ask their name. Such
is old age.

hope everyone has a good day

Maybe at chicken swaps, everyone should wear name tags!

"Hello, my name is ...
On BYC I go by ..."

No having to rack your brain. Just casually glance at the tag before you start up a conversation like you've known them for years.

My husband has the PERFECT excuse. Years ago he had a motorcycle wreck which damaged multiple parts of his brain, the right memory center included. Recently, he underwent surgery to cauterize that memory center; thus eliminating it. People who know him even casually should know this. Yet, he doesn't like to let on when someone comes up to him that he doesn't remember. Instead, he'll wait until they are gone and ask who he was talking to. If I was him, I would SO use it to conveniently forget not just people by accident, but on purpose as well.

Such is old age, me too. Right now I am trying to remember who I talked to on one of the chicken sites that have resonable jubilee orp. eggs for hatching. Can someone help me remember who they were. They were in NC but I forgot where. I have a broody hen starting today. Sigh
