It was a great weekend! All the chicken houses are cleaned out now. Rabbit barn is next! All the spare roosters have gone to freezer camp. Some chicken rearranging is in order, but no rush. I have a few more quail cages to build, too. But today...I'm going to (gag) do house work. I'd sooooo rather clean the rabbit barn! I know...

Welcome to all the new flockers!
I'm adding a second roosting pole to park avenue today as I've noticed the girls are trying to save seats at bedtime and causing a bit of drama. I love my four girls, and I've got a few opportunities to add two more newbies!

Why oh why did I choose to live where I live?!?!? Stupid ordinances and rules! I wish I could have at least 20 more chickens! I miss hatching chicks, raising babies, watching them grow, hearing them crow in the morning, and more eggs than I could count!

Live and learn I guess. Maybe one day I can get back to where I belong....on a farm!

I just had one, but sold it last week (well, practically gave it away... but still...). Seems like I saw some on Greensboro Craigslist recently too. Good luck!

It's going to be a scorcher today so remember to stay hydrated
and lots of fresh cool water for those birds too. I think we just may
put up a shade cover or two so the birds can have a cool spot.

A lovely, sunshiny day today! The storm last night brought the humidity way up, so I broke down and closed up the house and turned on the A/C. Chicks and bunnies growing, hens laying, roosters crowing, dogs snoring. Couldn't ask for better.

Except maybe for someone else to come clean my house.

Rotflmbo. .as I laid in bed this morning, secretly willing the kids to sleep past daylight, my son rolled over (after sleeping in bed with me using me as a kicking post all night)..he said, 'mom, why don't you pay someone to clean the house so we can work outside ALL day?"..

Is that a Boxer in your profile pic? I saw that and had to laugh at the 'dog snoring', bc if that's a Boxer it's more like rear ended wind instead of front end..lol..
