North Carolina

Woke up to an outside temp of 24 degrees!!! It's only November---this isn't suppose to happen until at least December...lol. All of the outside waterers were frozen; good thing I keep a butter knife in my coat pocket. All of the inside waterers were just fine, so I know no one went without water.

Of course, the birds don't seem to mind; they were still rearing to go when I opened their doors to their runs. The nice, hot breakfast I had cooked for them was, of course, COLD by the time I dished it out.

Well---better than the hot summertime with sweat pouring off of you, and bugs biting.

Now I get to sit in the comfy warmth of my recliner and watch the cockerels act fool by jumping and challenging each other....the little girls are taking their dirt bathes....a Partridge hen has gone broody...and all is right with the world....

Bat Cave good morning, We're over in Burnsville, It's just a hair cooler here at 21. Snow to be here by Wednesday, put another log in the wood stove and sit back an enjoy. Have a good un'

Hi Miss Lydia~~~yep, you'll are always cooler than us, and you definitely get more snow. Can't put another log on the fire, but the sun pouring through the sliding glass door sure feels like it...lol...and it provides me with a view of the river AND my Silkie runs.

Much better morning we woke up to~~weather wise, that is.....warm 40 degrees, no frozen water to contend with

Love to watch the birds when I first turn them out.....the juvies act fool by flying off the ramp, landing on top of each other The roos come bounding out, dancing at my feet~~silly boys
I know we have rain and possible snow coming in tonight, but I'm going to enjoy today!! Going to try and get the tarps hung around the kennel to block more of the wind off the little Silkie houses.

Hope all of you'll have a great day

We took some black orpingtons and one of our serama roosters. We took reserve of breed & variety with one of our orp cockerels, he is showing much promise.

Our serama took a first but was beat by his own son in overall variety. Iam still happy with that, it shows he is throwing good stock.
