North Carolina

Asheville has a big fair in Sept. every year but it's so crowed and so far we've only been once and that was probably 18 years ago when we lived there. I would love to go to see the livestock though.

My internet went out for a little bit, this weather is crazy! I was offered some serama eggs but I did not have a bator. Could I have a hen hatch out serama eggs or would a hen be to heavy for the serama eggs.

Thanks

Hi Miss Lydia~~HenThymes~~allabout

Depends on the breed of hen and how heavy she really is. Allot of people have other hens hatch their serama eggs just fine.

I would just be concerned about them running around with her after they hatch, or maybe pull them from her and put them in a brooder??

I know that you really cant make a hen go broody but is there a way to encourage a hen? How old should the broody be? Sorry for all of the questions I am new to all of this.

Good choices for brood hens of serama's but as to get them broody,

maybe one of these NC hens with silkies can help answer that one. In the two years we have had our orps not one has gone broody.
