Sorry you'll are having such crummy weather....today was the first time we've had "decent" weather in over a week......warmed up to 45, no wind, no precipitation.....snow and ice melted, and I was able to spend alot of time with the Silkies

who knows what tomorrow might bring...lol

Howdy y'all.
Does anyone know where to get any silkies or polish in southeast NC? I'm bout an hr from Wilmington, Fayetteville, and Myrtle Beach, SC.

Hi Adora, tooo bad you weren't over here on the west side, I'm sure one of these hens could help you out with some Silkies.

Good Morning All - what a much warmer start than we have had in awhile.

DH had to go into Charlotte for a Christmas breakfast at his office, he left at 3:30 this morning. Well I wasn't getting up that early so he was on his own. But I did get up at 6 and got barn chores done before getting my daughter ready for school. Nothing like cleaning good ole horse manure first thing when you wake up.

Chickens sure were glad to see me though. Having a 10 month old I don't get out to the barn as much as I would like to now that it's cold. DH does chores allot so I can stay in with the little one. I want to keep the little one in and out of the cold weather but I do miss spending time with my chickies.

Hope everyone is having a good day (so far)!

Ik, it seems I'm always too far from everything. There is one local person to buy from, I just don't like having to go there to get them, it's silly really, all over the word darlin'.

Morning All, it's 33 here seems like spring, except you really have to be careful how you walk ice everywhere. Chickens and ducks seem alot happier with a little break from the extreme cold. Busy day today going to Walmart to try to find our grandkids Christmas presents. 12,11and 8wow! anyway if anyone has ideas I'd be happy to hear from ya. They will be with us the week after Christmas coming from Atlanta. Ya'll have a real good one, aww a 10month old, you must really be a youngun HenThymes! Goodmorning all....

I'm kinda new here and still finding my way around the website. I live in Faison, in Sampson County. I've had chickens for about 10 years as pets & for eggs. Now it's becoming a hobby. I've been selling my extra eggs for eating, thinking it would help pay for their feed. Instead, I just buy more chickens.

I don't know about "young'un", I didn't get married till I was 30, daughter is now 8. We didn't plan for them to be so far apart just kinda happened that way. I would say I am more of a hen with a few grays.

Good Morning Neighbors !! wow---the sun is actually shining here, and the heater in the barn wasn't running when I went out to feed everyone. Esther & Frock (my oldest laying hens) actually ventured out of their warm little house too...first time in a week.

I was out spreading "ice melt" on the walkway.....new sofa being delivered this AM & I didn't want the guys falling.

Better you than me going to Walmart Trish~~that place is crazy now!! I dislike shopping and it's even worse this time of year. I run in, buy what I need and run out.

Welcome Bhep----you might be a hatchaholic, but you've gotten chicken math covered

Hope everyone has a safe & wonderful day
