Well, I ending up taking 21 chickens to the auction. I bought home 3 1/2 dozen hatching eggs, I could not resist!

I got 6 white call duck eggs for $6. 12 Magpie duck eggs for $5. 12 mystery duck eggs for $3.50. 12 blue chicken eggs.... I will assume Ameracauna, so they are mystery chicken eggs for $4.50. So 3 1/2 dozen hatching eggs for $19.

Hope some are really fertile. I already set them, so I will know by the end of the week.

AND............. Came home to 3 hatched chicks.

They are Silkie mixes.

Well it's for sure anoither broody! just confirmed today she is serious. so now 3 broodies with the first due to hatch on the 6th. this coming Wednesday, how eggciting and with Gran kids here to see new chicks. They already have names picked out.

sorry Em had to give up the new Emu chick but it's better for her she was probably having night mares about waking up and finding it standing over her.

What a weekend!!! Busy as a bee so to speak... hubby and I got the hive done, and even more raised beds. I may be able to 'beg' for a new coop soon.
