Can anyone help me out in locating a SQ Araucana roo? He needs to meet APA standards. Im at the point now where i have a good number of very nice chickens and now i need to start focusing on making babies that meet the criteria for the APA standard Araucana.

Hoping your male/female ratio is what you are hoping for (I'm guessing mostly females is the hope?)

Now that we have our barn complete (well 90% complete), I am going to start looking for some older pullets (to even the 3males/4females ratio)...but I don't even know where to begin....and I am nervous about the whole pecking order issue and all that fun stuff...suggestions?? Anyone know of a good place to get some older pullets? I am definitely not going to get any from anyone I don't know especially since these 7 are so healthy & free of all the "bad stuff". Maybe I'll just wait and let Mopsy be my first broody.

Oh Beth, what precious pictures. Are you hoping to eventually sell sebbies? I love them.

Ruthann, you might have the right idea about letting Mopsy add to your flock. unless like you said you know the person. I have read too many sad stories on BYC about people buying older pullets and bringing sickness into their flock. It ain't worth it.

Sorry about the wildfires around you GGCM, I hope the smoke settles down and you feel better today.

Thanks everyone.... yes hope for ALL pullets

HT... I hatched out the last lav. Orp last night, 15 or so hours on a hole on the egg. I was NOT going to bed without hatching her out. Well, good thing I did. The umbilical cord was wrapped around her foot. She could not kick out or turn I guess.

Foot was a little swollen, I left her in the Brinsea overnight and she is fit as a fiddle this morning

Ruthann....you KNOW I would be more then HAPPY

to hatch out some chicks for you. I have a bunch growing out now BUT they are all spoken for except for some roosters. Now that your barn is ready, you could brood them right out there. No muss no fuss !

If you get roosters I will just take them back.

Looks like another rainy day

Storms blew in yesterday and tree limbs and pine cones all over the place.

Off to get the kids up & about for church. Yeah ! I am doing the childrens church today. I alway enjoy these Sundays.

BHEP,
I just love your serama chicks. I have 2 little girls and am looking for a little roo. Where did you get yours, or better yet, do you have one you need a good home for? I realy want to have some more, but can't find a roo.
