Matt - Wow! What a little slowpoke! Any other late hatchers?

Fingers crossed that we get a bit accomplished on the coop today! It should be pretty out. But I do have to go order a bridesmaids dress for my brother's wedding so I don't know just how much can get done.

We'll see! I really need to at least get it so I can let the kids out to play. My screened-in porch just isn't the same as getting to run around in the dirt.

Gunna be another hot one........

My gosling spent their first night outside last night. *sniff* I was the only one upset. I hate that they are growing up. I set an XL dog crate up right outside my back door, they went right in and settled down. They couldn't care less.

But they were happy to see me this am.

I have the 3 babies inside still

All growing like weeds.


Still hatching I have 2 Welsummers out and 1 pipped. Today is hatch day and most are already out.

CSB: There are supposed to be some but it was batch of mixed colors, Golden, Silver, Buff, and White Crested Blacks We will see what happens...I keep going back to check and nothing more is happening...

So, I am planning to integrate my inddor hatched Silkie chicks into the flock of silkies and Buffs. Over how many days should I let them get use to each other? I plan to put the new chicks in the drop cage with food and water. They are too big to get out and the others cannot get in. Do you think this is a good idea? I am on vacation Memorial Day week so thought about putting them out everyday in the drop cage and then by Friday or Saturday let them loose. Do you think this will work?
