North Carolina

OOoohhhh, thanks HT - that makes sense! I have no problem waiting it out. I feel like I have a pretty good idea about the rest of them, and it was nice having Carolyn come and confirm what I was thinking for them all. But those 2 I've just been clueless and curiosity got the better of me!

And thank you, Miss Lydia! I do think they will be. I just hope they decide to start liking me soon!!!

Oh, and ramirezframing (or anyone else) - if you're looking for roos I have 2 Welsummers (6 1/2 weeks old) and 1 blue Ameraucana (5 weeks) that I'm pretty sure are boys that will need homes if you're interested!!!!!!

Thanks again guys!

I be looking a golden lakenvelder a sliver polish and a sumatra roo

Help!!

Ive got 10 chicks from my hatch a few days ago, 9 of them are doing great but 1 just keeps flopping over and looks almost like it is gasping for air. Is there anything I can do to save it?

Picture time!

Here's the almost completed coop that my hubby and I built. Will this project ever end? All I have left to do is the hardware on the popup door (and fix it so it doesn't stick), the plywood cover thing for the big window and then PAINT! Ugh, I hate painting, but at least it should go quick when I get to it. We also have to finish the run.

The birds are 6 week old buff orps and speckled sussex.

I'm jealous!!!

Question - my poor chicks are all panting and so hot in this stinkin heat! And they're on my screened-in porch with the ceiling fan on full blast. Are they going to be ok once they're out in the coop and it's even hotter??? I'm worried about them! It's 95 right now, but this summer it'll go over 100. Do you guys have fans in your coop in the heat of the summer?

Thanks!

It very seldon gets into the 90's here but I will use a fan, they can take the cold alot better than heat. Make sure they have plenty of cool drinking water, maybe put icecubes in their water.
