We had a huge storm yesterday and have been without power since. We had plenty of rain, hail, and wind. I honestly thought there was tornado coming

It was sunny and within 5-8 minutes the sky was black and strong winds where coming. We where downstair and could still hear the windows popping from the wind. I had enough time to get the 3 bantams in the garage but the big girls had to stay out, I felt so bad, even tho they didn't seem to mind. Alright I better go now, lol

HT, they are so pretty

Name them chickens! Honestly... I have to give them names. One of the red Cochin Bantam pullets is named Wendy. That leaves me 4 nameless birds, including 1 splash roo cochin and 1 frizzle cochin/ee mix pullet. So what names should I go with?

I dunno, when I see a Frizzle, I keep thinking of the Phineas and Ferb song "Izzie's got the Frizzies" So, with that in mind, I'm thinking Izzie or Isabel

for the song

No fun! I need sleep! But on the plus side, my Wellie boys did make it to their new home. I'm so lucky I found them a great home, but I'm still sad about having to send them off. It sure does seem empty out there!!! Only 16 chickens.

Anyone remember me saying I was going to have about 5 to 8!!! I've definitely learned that's how it goes with these guys!

Hello all and
welcome-byc.gif
to the Newies.

I am just about dead on my feet. We are moving into the new hospital today and tomorrow and I my was to Almost got it, but we couldn't move the student computers until IT committed to being our area to set them up. The showed up a day early and me made it all over by 2pm. Now Tomorrow it is time to very things away and hopefully not have to do in Sat or Sun. Maybe I will get to sit and watch my chickens instead of only seeing them to throw feed at them and fill waterers!

the 9th is still sitting. due to hatch this Thurs. or Fri. and only lost 2 chicks and 1 duckling out of it all. still sad though. But my little discarded duckling "Hope" is doing wonderful. We are so in love.

We have chicks that are about the same size so she gets to go out and hang with them some during the day. She also gets to hang around the ducks, but they pretty much ignore her. She sleeps in our bedroom in a dog crate and I have wee wee pads down all over the floor. She will be 2 weeks old tomorrow. Love the pics everyone has been posting. I have some too will try to get them up tomorrow, ya'll have a great night. Thanks for asking about me scm
