Okay...officially JEALOUS!!
At least your bantam orp pullets aren't laying...
I do hope they lay soon for you!!
ML - Chicken & Dumpling soup?? What time can we be over??
Sounds yummy...I've never had dumplings (can you believe it??)!!
So I've been reading this OLD cookbook/recipe book/something or other and I just had to share with you a recipe...just in case any of you are brave enough to try it.
If you do, let me know how it goes!!
The recipe (which our neighbor swears by once I told him about it...it's apparently a farmer's "classic") is suppose to be the "perfectly balanced breakfast" with all of the minerals and nutrients you could possibly need to start your morning out. Have I peaked your interests?
Okay...so since you have fresh eggs...all you do is take some fresh eggs, some freshly washed, dried and prepared brains and a pat a butter scramble it together and cook until the eggs are done. Top with some Ghee and raw cheddar cheese and serve with a side of buttermilk.
Anyone willing to try this to tell me if I could pass it off on my DH??
Off to do some sewing today...have a great afternoon everyone!!
My Grandfather used to have this "Scrambled Eggs and Calf Brains" for breakfast very often when I was a child ! (I never tried it.)
Today, however, with "Mad Cow Disease", I would personally be reluctant to eat it. (At my age...I'm not interested in
hurrying the advance of "Alzheimer's".
Ha-Ha !!!

Hey Junkmanme I was just thinking about you and wondering why we hadnt heard from you lately, hope all is well with you, and I don't think I'll be eating any brains either. what a way to mess up some good scrambled eggs
The starngest for me was when we would go visit my grandparents in Pa. they would eat scraple and pudding, not the kind of pudding we think of though, never did ask what was in it though.
