i always tell people never to feed anything outside, except scratch maybe out, or cats and raccons will come around, and especially when raising young, they get the want for fresh blood.

So going to TSC tonight and looking at all my options.

I candled the initial 16 silkie eggs that I purchased, not one was fertile!! Was I mad, the other 16 eggs are looking good so far after a week......... Have some more coming on Monday hopefully (partridge)......

I am so sorry for all that wait Gavin and nothing is even going to hatch?! I'd be so down.

I hope you get the partridge and get a HUGE hatch rate to make up for it.

I didn't make it to TSC, hubby and daughter wanted to play some cards and we ended up playing go fish for 2 hours then it was DD bed time. Well, maybe tomorrow night. Either way I may not have the money for a few weeks whatever the cost ends up being.

Someone moved out of the trailer park a couple months ago and set 'free' there yellow lab they couldn't take with them. He gave chase to my ducks once before. He tried to 'cut' through out yard earlier tonight to wonder on in his hunt for food. Got one good look at me and knew he was getting popped with the BB gun. Which he did, he probably won't think about trying to pass through our yard again for quite some time. Would have felt better if it were the dog that killed the birds, but hubby saw that dog and he's a big black dirty long hair mutt according to DH. So I will have my revenge eventually.
