Here's my little girl that hatched last week all by herself. She is such a sweetie and been a great trooper being by herself. Only a couple more days and she will have some brooder mates. (hopefully

Where am I? Where are you? .... Soon, I'll be in the eye of the storm. I'm frightened to death for my girls.....

Our coop is pretty secure. It's heavy & attached to a metal carport that we paid to have installed to withstand 130 mph winds. I'm just so worried about them though. I don't know whether to close windows in the eaves. I don't want them to overheat. I have a one-eyed girl whose in her own little coop.... I'm afraid she'll be picked on if we put her in with the other girls. I'm just going out of my mind with worry. I'm afraid that even if the coop is secure enough, the stress of the storm sounds will be overwhelming for them....

I plan to stand on my back porch and yell at the birdbrains to "Get back in your houses!"

They already live in pens that have bird netting on top (to make them stay put). The four biggest houses are raised and offer some space beneath to roll in dust or lay in the mud, as the case may be, lol.

My only issue is to figure out how to pen my four free ranging boys.

I've seen where a lot of folks plan to bring chickens inside garages. I, unfortunately, don't have one of those. Shoot, I may not have a carport after this!
