Figures I just cleaned out a bunch of older uploads, there was picture in there that I had sent to Ruthann. They are black copper, cuckoo, blue & white. All feathered shanks, no green legs.

I kept the one wheaten colored one.


HMMMMmmmmm just had a thought. The blue marans came from another BYCer. I was ROYALLY ripped off. I got 3 BCMs. 3 blue marans & 3 bantam BLRW. They claimed the marans were from greenfire lines. I kept 1 black bird .... I have got to post a picture of this "creature" ....Unbelievable ! also kept 2 bantam hens, I believe are very poor examples of buff laced wyandottes.


ETA: picture of BCM from greenfire lines....this is Fiona. Aptly named, should now be Shrek.

This bird is HUGE and obviously Heinz57 variety.

And a bantam BLRW ??????? cute little birds and steady layers. I have 2, this is the better looking of the 2. The other only has buff lacing on her chest.

second hen... I was sold as a bantam BLRW. So NOT

I drove just over an hour each way to pick up these day old chicks. I should make a stink & fuss.... but just warn people not to buy from them. I won't put the name out on this thread but will PM it to you if you want.

I do see marans in your boys tail, what color are the legs? Looks like tooo much fluff for straight marans, JG cross??

His legs are pale pinkish and knocked kneed. He also has some barred feathers on his wing. You can't see them in this pic, they are on the other side. He will be heading to the sale next weekend.



And please give me a hint as to what I can do with these hens.

Has anyone been to the Wicked Chicken Auction in Clayton? I've seen it advertised and actually met the guy that owns it last week. Its a pretty good drive from my house though and I wanted to know what the turnout was like before making the long drive.

Word of advise get there early. You can view animals up until 2pm, then sale starts and if you are selling you can there as early as 11 am, I think, maybe earlier. I usally get there 11:30-12:00 when I am checking in my sale birds.
