NH: That is so funny! My aunt and her husband live in Elyria. And I loved going to Cedar Point!! It is way better than any amusement park I've been to. In fact, I miss it! Gaelic is an older version of Irish. It is the language all their old myths and legends were written in. I've always loved the stories of the Tuatha De Danan. People still speak it today. Funny, but we did it so I could learn to speak some! Ha! Learning languages isn't expensive if you already have a computer or iPod and internet access. ITunes is free to download and there are a ton of free podcasts that you can download through its store that cost nothing. Those are what I use. Some can even be found in the kids video sections where they are aimed at teaching small children.

Good morning everyone!! Those of you going to the fair this weekend...HAVE A WONDERFUL TIME!! You will be missed, but I will be there (trying to take home all the cute fluffy chickens) in spirit at least!! I am excited, DH is taking me to get my sewing machine "fixed" (aka serviced & updated) tomorrow...NO clue how long it's going to be in the shop. I'm praying for a quick turn around. I NEED to get going on all my Christmas projects that I need to finish! I have 4 embroidery projects, a quilt, a baby quilt and a few outfits to make.

I am so not patient!!

Only 2 eggs yesterday. I think they are officially laying somewhere other than the coop, that's my only explanation. If I lock them up, I get 5-6, let them out (even though I wait until after lunch time), only 2!!

Sadly the barn is WAY too far from the house (or any outlet) to get a power cord out there...when we were building it, we had to run 2-3 cords out there and it still didn't reach, so we had to do all the tooling about 50' from the concrete pad. (Keep in mind I am also terrible with measurements...so my 50' could be WAY OFF!! LOL That's what DH is for!!) I will say my Marans are giving me eggs daily!!

Maybe one of my orps is trying to think about going broody and therefore is stashing some?!?

LOL At least I do know it's not a snake (at least I haven't seen one in the coop)....LOL

Just found out that my sewing machine will be in the shop for TWO WHOLE WEEKS!! What am I going to do with myself for 2 weeks and no sewing machine?? I think I may go crazy from sheer boredom!! Of course the fabric for the new baby quilt I am making just HAD to arrive today...as well as the fabric for a few of DD's Christmas dresses...how cruel!! I may have to learn how to knit!! Hope everyone is enjoying this GREAT weather!!

I went to the fair yesterday....it was wonderful!! I was there right at 3 and left around 8....never got super busy and we had a great time.

I will have to say....when I walked through the chicken tent I was disappointed in the quality. It was my first time walking through there and actually knowing a little bit more than "thats a chicken". There are a lot that are missing feathers, rough looking, sick looking, or just pathetic. I don't have anything super special in my coop but my chickens are shiny, healthy, well cared for, and bright eyed. What am I missing? Is conformation REALLY more important that care?
