So sorry to hear about all the pets feeling ill.

I do hope they are all feeling much better soon.

I have to agree on deciding not to do surgery if it doesn't feel like it would really help, quite often good supportive care will give the pet better quality of life and keeps everyone happy.

Well, I am now off making halloween costumes! I don't know HOW I got roped into it, but my sister is broke and told the boys she couldn't BUY them their costumes... first they were mad, pouty and crying, then she said she was calling their auntie to see what I could do.

So over they came and we went internet searching (as I don't have time to sew 1 costume let alone 2) and found costumes made of recycled materials. After a bunch of digging, attic crawling and pulling out all my craft baskets.... we're able to put together a Jester outfit, from the house of cards and little scuba diver outfit. I'm still working away on these, but will probably post pictures when I'm done.

This year my kids are the chick-fil-a cow and a teeny chicken. DD is the cow and will wear an "eat more chickn" sign and little man is the chicken.

If anyone needs a costume I have a very cute Old Navy Dragon costume sz 12-24 months available.

I'm in Hillsborough. I have a single 2-day-old quail chick who is lonely. Would anyone have a teeny chick or two I could put with mine? This one simply won't stop cheeping.....

Morning everyone...no update on my kitty. I really do think it's just something she ate. She's an indoor only cat, so has no access to plants or poisons (that I know of at least). I'm thinking she ate one of these nasty bugs (I call them stink bugs)...my other cat bit one and started vomiting right away...

maybe that's it?!? The vet did not do x-rays, but she is planning on stopping by again in a few days - if she hasn't gotten any better, so I will ask her about doing that!!

Thanks for all the support everyone!!

BHep - I am sorry about your roo!!

I have a roo you can have, if you WANT one!!

WDW - I am sorry to hear about your golden. You're so sweet to build him a ramp and make him as comfortable as possible. I worked with a gal once who did all the chemo and all of the meds and the dog was miserable - both during the treatment and after. Sadly, he succumbed to the cancer anyway. I think you are being sweet to not put him through that misery! Still our pets are like children so

I am still sorry!!

Have a great day everyone!! I will be attempting to make apple chips later on today...have a fresh batch of organic apples and thought DD might like to chew on a few...not to mention my MIL gave me a dehydrator that I've never used...thought it was about time!!

I know this person does quail. She's in Pittsboro - not too far from Hillsbourough, right?? http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Harvest-to-Home-Locally-grown-foods/410447969256

Sorry for all the pet troubles everyone. I'm a bit worried about my cat, too! I had 2 stray rescues. I lost my sweet boy last year to a condition that it really common in strays and the vet warned me that my other cat might also have it. Now suddenly she's starting to lose weight so I'm getting worried. She said there is treatment but it involves weekly IVs and isn't usually effective and of course is very expensive.

Wild, my parents' golden sounds exactly like yours! Older than his years, lots of trouble getting up and down. Poor things! I swear every golden I've known has had medical issues.

STILL no more chickens laying eggs!!!!!!!!!!!!!
barnie.gif
They're in and out of nesting boxes, being nosey as can be while Esme is laying, grumbling around, but NO eggs!!! G&A - I think I'm going to try your red pepper trick. Red pepper, right? Or cayenne? Now what was it again????? Oh, and question - Esme pulls out some little feathers while laying - is that normal???

Hope you all have a great day!
