Here is the link for the Johnston County SPCA. All dogs right now on their site available, but perhaps they have some cats they just haven't gotten posted yet.

I like helping people find things. Hopefully maybe one of these links will lead you to a new family member.

You've got a lot more options around you than I do.

I feed egg shells back with out cooking them. I just throw into a small bucket and let them dry a few days, than I crush them down and when I have enough I feed them to everyone.

Well for the minute I think I fixed DH's baby. He's all alone with a turkey a few yards from him and DH's giant meat roo also in a different pen.

I use oyster shell already mixed into their feed and provide extra in case. However, the hen I think laid this particular mutant egg I wasn't expecting to lay for awhile yet. She's old enough, over 30 weeks, but her comb and wattles have just started to redden but haven't grown much yet. Her sister from the same hatch has been laying for weeks but didn't start until her comb and wattles grew out. We lost a JB chick tonight. DH came home to find it lying dead beneath the coop.

I can't figure her out. She's great with them all day long, but at night she sort of just heads to bed and expects them to follow. If they don't, they end up stuck outside. Miss Lydia thinks she may just not want to raise them as she had a bird do something similar. I've caught her sitting on eggs I haven't collected yet twice since the chicks have hatched. Any thoughts?

Honestly I would bring them in and raise them, it sounds like shes one of those "hatch only" type moms, not a "rearing" type. I have had those, hens that like to sit on the eggs and mess with the babies a day or two, and then are like "what the world I don't want ya'll" and go find new eggs.

X2 May be best to bring them in

Anyone looking to add a silkie cockerel to their flock?? This guy is looking for a flock of his own. We have finally figured out who all is who and don't need three boys. He is a pretty blue boy.
