Did anyone see this BBC and Oprah thing for a Match Makers show? They're looking for a 'small' town to hold it in, and FV is on the list. Read it today and sent it to a friend I want to get his 'dating on' again since his break up. Guess they really do notice small town USA after all! (Like we don't already know each other here.

)

Pretty cool... I wanna see Oprah... well, actually I rather just get a car from Oprah! HAHAHA

That is awesome! And yes, they come out of their coop by themselves and everything. They run around, play, and are even making friends with my Japanese Bantam roo whose been trying to teach them about food - like how to catch bugs and scratch for them. It's funny! He's such a mother hen!

For those of you looking for bread recipes, I found a ton (as my machine came with maybe 10 total, useless) on food.com and all you have to do is type in bread machine.

SCM - I haven't forgotten about the roll recipe, I am digging it out this morning and will send it to you. I will say you only get to use the dough cycle (obviously so you can then shape/form the rolls) but they are wonderfully light and fluffy - bonus: you don't have to "proof" the yeast like older recipes!! woot!!

Chicken update: they KNEW I was collecting eggs yesterday!! I only managed to get ONE egg - and it was my green egger...boy oh boy is she ever faithful in laying daily!!

To the other ladies who are hold outs to DH!! hehe

Okay...so now I am investigating getting some other kinds of birds... After feeding and watering my boys/girls this morning, I head up to my sewing room to finish this baby quilt and WHAT do you think I find crawling all over me?? A TICK!! My chickens are obviously NOT eating them, so I need something to get rid of them!!

Isn't it too late in the season for these nasty things?? UGH, gross!!

Question for you Silkie peeps - One of my chicks has a much different, taller head than the other, and it also tends to run around with a very boyish stance. Now I know they're only a week and a half old but I didn't know if the head deal was a possible indication of sex. I wouldn't have thought of it except for "his" roosterish stance with his little neck stretched out all the time! He's also much more rambunctious than the other!
