One just has a vaulted skull, usually makes for a bigger poof in mine.

Just wanted to say Brian has another interview with another company tomorrow. Off to Cary he goes! Wish us luck!

(The other company hasn't responded yet, but they said it wouldn't be until the end of the week anyways.)

Well Beth I made the pumpkin bread rescipe you gave and it didn't turn out so good. I think it's my machine, I put the ingrediants in as listed but didn't know which bread channel to put it on so i used Fruit and nut and guess that wasn't it. I did manage to salvage about a third of it and it taste good. Next i am going for the cinnamon bread. will let ya'll know.

Thanks for the info about Em, SCM. The "runner chick"

has a vaulted skull, normal for a silkie. And running around stretching her neck, I think just curious or nosy.

I have chicks hatching............ NH... 3 Austrolorp out so far, 1 zipping and 3 more eggs out side. I gave 3 broody Serama hens each 1 egg to hatch. Poor girls have been sitting on non-fertile eggs for a month or more. I kept taking the eggs and they would lay another and sit. I just gave up and let the sit. Now they will each have a chick

and be mamas.

Also hatched 4 Araucana. I have some silkie eggs in the hatcher also...don't see anything going on there.

Another busy day of coop building ahead. A lot of work but looks great so far. Hope to have the first 6 coops done today.

Hubby is redoing fascia boards on a neighbor's house today. She's so excited, she's got him installing fans, looking at fixing her porch, and building some wood shutters for the windows. I'm so glad he's got people putting him to work while he's not working. He really loves doing the carpentry work and is so glad to be away from the landscaping stuff, even though he knows he may have to go back.

Which reminds me, did I ever share his etsy shop of garden/home items made from reclaimed wood? I'm so proud of him. http://www.etsy.com/handyhubby

Also
wanted to say my Japanese bantams are FINALLY sleeping in the coop at night. For awhile my old girls wouldn't let the new arrivals (1 jap roo and 1 jap pullet I hatched with my silkies in March) inside the coop at night. They were roosting on one of the 2x4's that made up the run. After the dog attack I moved my remaining cochin bantams in with the JB until we fix that coop. The cochins basically refused to be stuck outside the coop and fought their way in on night one. Well, finally the younger JB got tired of the cold nights and are in the coop in the evenings now! HOORAY! That was really stressful for me since I couldn't reach them where they roosted to get them into the coop myself. They even slept out there the night of Irene! I was terrified I'd lose those 2 all night long!!!

Its amazing just how much chickens can stress us out!!!

On another note, will you be offering any Christmas baskets this year?? I think it may make a great present for some northern relatives.
