North Carolina

We have onlly been to the Wicked Chicken Auction once, but what a great time we had!!! We were in search of a couple of nanny goats, had told ourselves "No Roosters". We already had an agressive RIR roo at home. When we left, we did not have any goats

However,,,,,,,,,,,,we had 2, count em, 2 roosters and one hen!! We bought a pair of the most spectacular Jersey Giant!! Any, my boy.........a beauitful Columbian Wyndotte!! Shortly after that, our first attempt at incubation was successful!! And, now we have a 4th rooster!!!! Steve has been building coops, complete with their own yards!!

We probably won't be back there until after the holidays and shortly after that, Steve will be working out of town for several months

Sooooo, I may not be back then unless maybe I can talk someone into going with me!!

I was sitting on the right side too. 2 sections over from the fan in the seats up front, had 4 kids with me. I am not going this weekend either.

Okay BYC'ers...I need some encouragement. I am so distraught with Susan...she is not improving (so far she is not getting any worse either, so far). Nothing I do seems to help. She still has a droopy tail and a poopy bottom. It seems like we are bathing her every other day just to keep the bottom clean. I haven't seen any worms, lice, mites, fleas, etc...I really don't know what else to do. I did the Wazine treatment as well as the nutri-drench and gave them all a good probiotic "snack" after the treatment.

I fear one of these days I am going to go let her and the "gang" out only to find her dead from whatever this is. Whatever it is...it doesn't seem to be affecting any of the other chickens. I am just very discouraged and downtrodden over this....I had hoped that she would show some sign of improvement by now, and yet she hasn't.

I appreciate all that you have done to try and help us!!

Sorry my post this morning isn't one of my usual, but I am just worrying sick over poor Susan!!

RF... He enjoyed it. Said it was cool.

And sold a bunch and came home with nothing but cash.

NH... remember...... the Wazine is for roundworm treatment only. Keep up the probiotics. The 2nd round of worming is broad spectrum. When do you need to re-worm ? (14 days from the 1st Wazine dose. )

If haven't already, try treating her for coccidia. Three days of solumet in her water. I a few that had the poopy bottoms and they responded to that. good luck

Thank you for the reminder!! Today looks like a good day for another dose of my green chicken crack - once DD goes down for a nap that is!!

I hope she doesn't have anything worse than roundworms...then again, we live with coyotes, foxes, deer, opossums, wild boars, wild birds of all sorts and who knows what else is back in those woods!!

I am still trying to hunt some Safeguard for goats down at our local TSC - tomorrow I am going to see if Agri-supply has some. Guess this is the month for worming, as TSC seems to be permanently out for the moment.

I need to re-worm on the 15th, so I still have a few more days to worry & fret then.

Thanks again for the reminder and the support!!
