Hi all, a quick update from the past week..............

Hatch #1 was 100% 4 out of 4,

Hatch 2 this weekend gave us 8 out of 13, lost one...........

Hatch #3 went in to lockdown this morning, 12 eggs, mix of Marans, RIR's and crosses.......

Leaves me 4 to go in on Thursday, and finally the 8 Partridge eggs I have to go in on 12/25.............

Then my neighbor is away for the week, I am chicken sitting, so any eggs may well get hatched...........

I promise more pics this week...........

All of my Barred Rocks have just about finished molting. How long until they start laying again? It is funny how they all stopped laying at the same time, like being in a chicken union and they all went on strike!

Give the Rock a few more eggs and if she is a pullet just strting to lay, those eggs will get bigger. Good Luck

Evening folks......hope all are well and just about ready for Christmas.

Been a little under the weather lately and working on getting better so sorry for not keeping up with everyone. I am so far behind that I can just about kiss my rear but thats about how it always is for me

I hope I can get up all the lights before Christmas

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr! It's cold!!!! Which is why I caved and have been bringing the little Silkies in at night!

Good Morning Everyone!!

Susan update: I think I have solved ONE of the mysteries...I think I know why she is sleeping in the nesting boxes at night...I think Susan was kicked off the nesting boxes by the two new girls, as I went in there last night and they were all cuddled up with the roos and my white Tabitha and there was Susan, sleeping inside the nesting box. Poor girl!! So not only is she feeling down and out, she's also the low chick in the pecking order it seems - or at least sleeping order!! I did resist the urge to pick up the cochins: Belle & Olivia and just snuggle with them!!

Today is a good day...I am all set to clean DD's room once she wakes up and spend the rest of the day baking cookies (I am attempting to make cut out cookies...I HATE cut out cookies...okay, well I LOVE eating them, but hate making them!!

) for our neighbors!! I hope to get their goodie baskets done here soon so DD and I can deliver them!! I was worried last night that I was coming down with a sinus infection - my face HURT but I think I've just been using too many tissues as today it doesn't hurt!!

That means I am all set to bake away!!

My baking list for today:
Sugar Cookies
Rice Krispie Treats
Puppy Chow
Imitation Girl Scout Thin Mints
Buckeyes (aka chocolate covered peanut butter balls)
Snowman (aka chocolate covered marshmallows)
Molasses Cookies
Gingerbread boys & girls (going to let DD shake the sprinkles on these or the sugar cookies)
M&M Bars
Peanut Butter Cookies
and if there's time and enough ingredients.... Cherry Cordial Thumbprints for the DH!!

You all are welcome to come over and help!!

I'll be sure to send some home with you to "taste test"...
