Chicken treat:

This is what we made for our birds today, Oatmeal and Grit Brownies.

It consists of grits, rolled oats, scratch, BOSS, canned corn and grated carrot. Cook all together in a pot for about 30 mins, spread in a tray, cool and cut in to brownie sections and feed to the birds!!

Well, just gave it to the chooks, it was like a feeding frenzy. I want to try it next with lard for the cold to give them that extra heat boost for the cold months... I'll keep you all updated...

I kept the Silkies inside overnight to make sure they were good and dry.... put them back outside and the brats started dust bathing first thing.
